Space Reaserch Centre CBK is an interdisciplinary Scientific Institute of Polish Academy of Science. It provides scientific, technical works, experiments in the range of Outer Space Physics and geodynamical research of planets and the Earth. Since the beginning of the activity of the Space and Research Centre approximately 50 instruments made in SRC PAS have been sent to the outer space. SRC has very wide equipment infrastructure, which is used for construction and testing the space equipment with the maintenance of the conditions needed for space missions, as well as infrastructure and equipment used for satellite geodesy research. In SRC building there is located RIMS station of the EGNOS system. Distinguished projects, in which SRC participates are written below:
- CASSINI- Saturn and Titan research
- INTEGRAL- space laboratory of high energy
- MARS EXPRESS- Martian’s probe
- ROSETTA- mission to the comet
- ASTRO+ (security)- Advanced Space Technologies to Support Security Operations;
- Foresight of the space techniques In Poland;
- GMES- dedicated to the international security
CBK in Proteus Project is responsible for building and integration of location sensors, which are based on the positioning with satellites systems (navigation of mobile robots and unmanned plane), preparation of commanding stand and for demonstrations, information and promotion of the project.
