ITME is for 30 years the leading Polish Institute working in the multidisciplinary area of research and development of materials and innovative devices and components based on these materials for use in electronics, micromechanics, etc. Used technologies enable creation of materials with perfect crystal structure and specific attributes according to individual clients and cooperators needs. ITME grows single-crystals semiconductor and oxide (optical, piezoelectric) materials. Nanotechnologies enable to manufacture super-pure metals, active glasses and optical fibers, new (active and transparent) nanoceramics and composite materials, which have unique properties for a wide range of applications. The Institute develops epitaxial structures and innovative optoelectronic devices.
ITME's achievements in a field of scientific research and development activities:
- Purposeful project - evolution of blue optoelectronics;
- UV detectors for the range of 200 - 365nm - "visible and solar blind";
- Advanced technologies for infrared semiconductor optoelectronics;
- Advanced MicroElectroMechanicalSystemsm (MEMS) on radio frequency and milimetre waves communication;
- Receiving and testing single crystals properties and GaP's plates for infrared sensors ( included in the EUREKA research programme, 2007 - 2009 );
- Elaboration and implementation of laser diodes on band 810nm for medical and industrial use.
In PROTEUS project ITME participates mainly in elaboration and integration of system sensors.
