Poznan University of Technology
Faculty of Computer Science and Management (Computer Science Institute)
In numerous modern laboratories of Poznan University of Technology research is conducted on methods, algorithms and system architectures associated with mobile applications of the future. Excellent outfit of laboratories (e.g., embedded computers, mobile computers, cellular communicators, GPS receivers, laser range-finders, inertial measurement systems, electronic compasses, radio modules, telemetric equipment) allows for conducting interesting works connected with automation inside buildings and their remote control as well as designing and constructing of unmanned aerial and water vehicles.
The Computer Science Institute of PUT actively participates in many projects of which we may quote:
- “Methods and algorithms of mobile computing in network-centric systems of support for operational work of police”, realization years: 2006-2008;
- „A mobile, network-centric system of support of operational work of police”, realization years: 2006-2009;
- „Intelligent information system supporting observation, searching and detection for security of citizens in urban environment”, realization years: 2008-2013.
In the Proteus project the Institute of Computer Science of PUT is responsible for construction of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and also for selection and adaptation of Mobile Command Centre (MCC), development of software for the MCC and system operator consoles and data presentation.
